About the school

The University of Tennessee - Chattanooga's College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) marked its humble beginning in the fall of 1969. The credit goes to four men—Bob Wynn, Terry Carney, Ron Cox, and Lynne Russell—whom local officials and community leaders fully supported. The College emulated the fundamentals of the predecessor University of Technology Engineering Programme to start proceedings. The primary focus of the College was industrial manufacturing, and it continues to have a substantial economic impact on the Tennessee Valley Corridor. Fifty-four years later, over 5,000 technologists, engineering managers, and computer scientists have the College to thank for their career path. CECS is an ABET-accredited college, a significant achievement as it indicates the College upholds the highest quality standards in education. Very few institutions succeed in acquiring the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accreditation. International students will find Chattanooga a charming city in Tennessee, a state with a rich history and diverse culture. Chattanooga is famous for its stunning landscapes comprising the Rolling Hills, the Tennessee River, and lush forests. The vibrant city offers a mix of Southern and cosmopolitan hospitality.
